22 March 2025 – ARMT attends the commemoration of 25 years of Jan Swasthya Abhiyan. The Jan Swasthya Abhiyan (JSA) was formed in 2001, with the coming together of 18 national networks that had organised activities across the country in 2000, in the lead up to the First Global Peoples Health Assembly, in Dhaka, in December 2000. The JSA forms the Indian regional circle of the global People’s Health Movement (PHM). This aligns with the trust's principles of Right to Health. The session was addressed by Dr Abhay Shukla. Shukla is a public health physician based in India, working on public and community health issues since last 35 years. He is Senior consultant with SATHI Pune (Support for Advocacy and Training to Health Initiatives), and is a national co-convener of People’s Health Movement – India. He has co-edited / authored the books ‘Review of Health care in India’, ‘Health system in India – crisis and alternatives’ as well as ‘Dissenting Diagnosis’, exposing malpractices in the private medical sector in India
